Meet Tiodora del Carmen, 24 years old, and resident of a small rural community called San Marco.
Tiodora is staying at the Casa Materna for the next few weeks while she awaits the birth of her fourth child, a boy she thinks.聽 She traveled a little over an hour by ambulance to get to the Casa Materna in San Ram贸n where she is very grateful for the hot meals and prenatal care she recieves daily.聽 Her oldest son is 6 years old, and she says that the hardest part of coming to the Casa Materna is that she probably won’t have her other kids around when the baby is born.
